I work in series, each series connected to others by related philosophic concerns but, not necessarily, by painting technique.
Visually, the work may look very different from one series to the next (for example, the transition from States of Change to Visible Reminders).
Sometimes the visual transition from one series to the next may be an evolutionary change (for example, Visible Reminders to The Fire and the Rose or even The Fire and the Rose to the 2005 paintings of The Thirteenth Moon).
I begin a new series either because of a new focus to my philosophic concerns or because of a feeling having solved the major aesthetic challenges of my then current series.
